In 1979, Alois Fetzel established the company in Vorarlberg. Behind his home in Thüringerberg, he created a 100 m² workshop with an automatic NC lathe. Since then the Voralberg family firm has grown continuously.
From contract turner to machine maker
He expanded his contract lathe shop five years later. In 1984, Alois Fetzel produced and installed the first laminator for laminating PCBs. Since then, this has been marketed by partner companies all over the world. In 1995, Alois Fetzel’s son, Thomas, joined the company. With his know-how numerous custom-made machines were developed through to readiness for series production.
2nd generation and custom-made machine construction
In 2009, Thomas Fetzel took over as managing director. Under his leadership, custom-made machine construction developed into a second mainstay of the company in additon to CNC production. In addition to flexible laminators, compact lamination machines and many custom-made machines were built and sold.
New location in Thüringen, Vorarlberg
In 2005, the new production center in Thüringen was completed. The glass-wood-steel structure offers a floorspace of 1600 m² for production, assembly and administration. Goods handling is facilitated by a ground-level and enclosed loading zone. The production hall accommodates the latest generation of multi-axis CNC cutting machines. Since the start of 2010, FETZEL has been certified as an Ökoprofit business.
